About
Located near to Heanor, Shipley Country Park offers 700 acres of attractive and varied landscape with leafy pathways, reservoirs, tranquil lakes, large woodlands and wildlife meadows. You can walk or ride on 18 miles of footpaths and bridleways through the park. Whatever the season, there is always lots to see and do in the park from walking, cycling, horse-riding, bird-watching, angling, picnicking, kite flying, jogging, wayfaring, photography, exploring the park and much more.
The park has earned the Green Flag Award for its quality green space provision, every year since 2008. The Green Flag Award is the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales. The Visitor Centre is a good place to start your visit, it has a range of facilities on offer to enable you to enjoy your visit to the full. The park includes a wildlife garden, toddlers play area, adventure play area, and cafe(currently closed).
