About

Located near to Heanor, Shipley Country Park offers 700 acres of attractive and varied landscape with leafy pathways, reservoirs, tranquil lakes, large woodlands and wildlife meadows.  You can walk or ride on 18 miles of footpaths and bridleways through the park. 

Whatever the season, there is always lots to see and do in the park from walking, cycling, horse-riding, bird-watching, angling, picnicking, kite flying, jogging, wayfaring, photography, exploring the park and much more.

The park has earned the Green Flag Award for its quality green space provision, every year since 2008. The Green Flag Award is the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales.  In 2011 the park also achieved Country Park Accreditation from Natural England for its facilities and services.

The Visitor Centre is a good place to start your visit.  It has a range of facilities on offer to enable you to enjoy your visit to the full.  The park includes a wildlife garden, toddlers play area, adventure play area, and cafe.

Ramblers Coffee Shop
The privately-run Ramblers Coffee Shop at the visitor centre provides a range of hot and cold snacks, lunches and afternoon teas. Ramblers Coffee Shop is able to cater for groups hiring the green room and for children's birthday parties if booked in advance.
The coffee shop accepts payments by card.

Derby Lodge Tea Rooms
The privately run tea rooms, (a community interest company), provides a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks. Dog friendly.

Tea rooms opening times: Derby Lodge Tea Rooms are operating a takeaway service from 9:30am to 3pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 9:30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
