Everything you need to get started on the Ay Up Me Duck Trail can be found here.
You can download a trail map or pick up a printed copy from locations across Amber Valley. The downloadable maps include bus routes between towns, making it easy to plan your visit and explore all four market towns if you’d like to complete all four trails.
Information on how to download and use the trail app will be added shortly.
Using the trail app
Downloading the trail app is the easiest way to take part in the Ay Up Me Duck Trail.
The app allows you to:
-
Collect ducks digitally as you find them
-
Track your progress across each town
-
Access offers and rewards linked to the trail
You can still enjoy the trail without the app by using a printed map, but the app adds an extra layer of interaction plus the opportunity to take part in rewards and prize draws.
More information on how to download and use the app will be added here shortly.
Download and print a trail map
You can download and print a trail map at home before you visit.
Two map options are available:
-
A combined trail map showing all duck locations across the four towns
-
A bus routes map showing public transport links between Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley

Extra challenge
Spot the Hidden Ducks!
During the 10 weeks of the Duck Trail, and beyond, some shops across all four towns will be featuring window art. All of these displays hide a small duck somewhere within the artwork. This isn’t part of the main trail—it won’t appear on the app or the map. It’s a secret extra challenge for curious eyes. See if you can spot them all as you explore!
