BBC Radio 2 folk awards Best Duo Winners 2013 & 2016.

Long established as one of the UK folk scene's most rewardingly enduring partnerships, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman are 'songwriters par excellence' (fRoots magazine), their music tuneful, intelligent and soulful.  Here, Kathryn's powerful voice is matched againsts Sean's driving guitar on a set of impressive modern folk songs and heartfelt traditional numbers, switching from thoughtful ballads to stomping accoustic rock.  Impressive and entertaining.

The flawless jazz singer Sarah Moule and immaculate pianist Simon Wallace make a perfect duo of talents.  Here they bring to elegant life the music of jazz titan Edward Kennedy 'Duke' Ellington, the paramount orchestral figure in jazz.  Stunning arragements of songs from the vast repetoire of his work blend with facinating Ellingtonia to glorious effect.  An intimate and striking voice and piano show.

BBC Radio 2 Young Folk nominee 2012.  British Blues award nominee 2014.  With talents way beyond his years, Derby born Blues-folk troubadour Sunjay has been hailed for his exquisite and seemingly effortless guitar mastery and graceful bass voice, with a mature stage presence and captivating anecdotes.  Superb 20th century 'new generation' blues music.

Kate Lissauer sonic silents: silent film and live music The Pitch 'o Chance (1915) / The Pilgrim (1916).

A trio of masters of Amercian old time country string music and bluegrass provide live musical accompaniment to the early 1920's and 30's Hollywood silent Wild West short films of pioneering, Oscar winning director Frank Borzage.

A charming, funny, fully immersive night of theatre, with superb period details and some great swinging 60's music, from Dusty Springfield and The Supremes, to the Beach Boys and Beatles.

Company: Kit Holmes with Al Greenwood

Macy Gray meets Nick Drake (The Observer).  Much championed byt guitarist John Etheridge, siner songwriter Kit Holmes is a rising star of the acoustic music scene, her trademark sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing having wowed audiences across the UK.

Here, Kit is joined by guitarist Al Greenwood for an enthralling infectious performance of her blues driven roots pop (with soul sensibility).  Full of warmth and joie de vivre, and mixing dazzling songs with delightful instrumentals.  This is an absolute delight.

With sweet vocals soaring over shimmering strings, this dauntingly good quartet weaves together folk roots and classical influences to realise music that is as imaginative as it is sheerly beautiful.  Drawing together musicians from Ashley Hutching's Rainbow Chasers and The Old Dance School to spine-tingling effect, and with a diverse set of old songs and originals, this is an intimate and mesmerising evening of folk music.

BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Finalists 2010. Supurb (BBC Radio 2) uptempo pickin and fiddlin from the hugely talented Devonian twins Laura and Charlotte Carrivick, one of the UK's top young American bluegrass and old time music acts.  With swapped lead vocals, tight sibling harmonies, multi instrumental virtuocity (fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar and dobro) and finely crafted songs, this is a 'simply breathtaking' (Americana UK) slab of good time listening.
